Maybird Confections is a small business based in Alpharetta, Georgia.  We’re proud members of Georgia Grown, and use only Georgia pecans in our toffee. We believe in wholesome, natural foods, and we use organic ingredients as much as possible.

Maybird’s “Chief Confectioner” is Julie, who’s been making toffee for family and friends for over 30 years.  It started as a holiday tradition, but then Julie started getting requests for toffee throughout the year.  After years of dreaming and lots of encouragement and support, Julie is now making her toffee available to everyone. 

Maybird toffee is handcrafted in small batches in our commercial kitchen in Alpharetta, Georgia.  The basic recipe hasn’t changed much from the original, but we’ve upgraded the ingredients to use the very best available, including premium chocolate, organic butter, organic sugar, Georgia pecans, California almonds, and Himalayan pink salt.  We’ve recently started making most of the chocolate in-house “bean to bar to toffee”.

We have fun trying new things, and we’ve started adding new products.  We started with chocolate covered nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pecans) and chocolate covered coffee beans, and we have several other items in the pipeline.  Most of those will be chocolate-focused, especially since we’re making our own chocolate now.

Maybird Confections is named after Julie’s maternal grandmother Allie Jackson, known to her family and friends as “Maybird.”   She was a wonderful southern cook who passed her love of chocolate down to her children and grandchildren.  “Mammaw”, Julie’s paternal grandmother, was another amazing southern cook with a love of chocolate.  She was known especially for chocolate covered cherries, as well as delicious chocolate cakes and pies.  We want to pass on the chocolate love from our family to yours in the form of our toffee.  We hope you taste the love in every bite!
