Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Chocolate 70% – Tumaco, Colombia

$15.00

Award winning Colombian cacao nibs aged in fresh-emptied Georgia bourbon barrels for 4 months before being crafted into a 70% dark chocolate, blending the best flavors from the charred oak and rich chocolate into one deliciously complex bar.

Description

After roasting, cracking, and winnowing the Columbia Tumaco cocoa beans, we age the cocoa nibs in an empty bourbon cask from our friends at RM Rose Distillery in Mt Airy, Georgia. The nibs pick up the residual flavors and smells from the bourbon and the charred barrel, lending a richness to the resulting chocolate. Taste this special bar for yourself and see why it’s a favorite.

We purchase these cocoa beans from Uncommon Cacao, who has incredibly high standards for ethical, transparent sourcing. The beans come from four associations in the Tumaco region of Colombia, and are blended for consistency and flavor by Cacao de Colombia (Cacao Hunters.)
