Hot Chocolate Mix – Christmas 2025 Blend

Maybird’s official hot chocolate blend, exactly as served at the 2025 Atlanta Christkindl Market, and exactly as served in our home for years. Made with dark chocolate crafted at the Maybird Kitchen in Alpharetta, Georgia from a delicious crop of organically grown cacao beans from Semuliki, Uganda, along with organic sugar, organic cocoa powder, and Himalayan pink salt. We roast, crack, winnow, and stone-grind the cocoa beans in our melangers, adding nothing but organic cane sugar, and wait u til it turns into a rich dark chocolate. We then transfer the chocolate from the melangers onto sheet pans, spreading it untempered in thin sheets to achieve a crumbly texture. We grind up our freshly made chocolate until it is no larger than pea gravel, then perform another round in the food processor with our precise recipe of cocoa powder, sugar, and salt added. Once we have thoroughly mixed the chocolate and broken down the grains of sugar, it is ready to be packaged and made into hot chocolate! Our hot chocolate mix is all made in Alpharetta in micro-batches, blending the powder up 2kg at a time. This hot chocolate is made with love by people who are passionate about chocolate, and is sure to warm the spirit even on the coldest of nights.

To prepare as we do, use approximately 2-3 tablespoons of powder for 10 ounces of whole milk. Heat milk with an espresso machine, a milk frother, or on the stove (stir continuously). Add powder to taste while stirring it in. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pot while stirring to break up and melt any clumps. Add chocolate powder until satisfied with the flavor, and then think about adding a little bit more. Top with whipped cream and marshmallows, and drink from your favorite mug.
